Be Unwiped and Stringy and Political on Pathways

David Byrne was born sixty years ago. I hereby reinstate High Holy Day of Egoslavia designation. Truth told, I'd soured, the music aged mustily, I aged, I Byrne-burned out on Byrne shatnerzing Byrne, but Talking Heads was once on the short rotation for my stupidass Desert Island Game, and while they aren't any longer, looking for songs last night reminded me why once they were.

I could instruct the children to tree on all sides
of trunk planking, I could instruct them to screw up
their eyes and pencil their routes illegibly. Go.
Be almost indistinguishable, cross diameters, be
unwiped and stringy and political on pathways. Now
turn the page. Draw pilots. Be unsettled, be weedy.

  1. You might want to look here: http://www.davidbyrne.com/radio/

HTML doesn't seem to work for me in your Comments, so you'll have to cut and paste. If so inclined. It's DB's current listening playlist. It's also available via iTunes. Been tuning in for years. Kinda' lets you peek into what the old guy's into these days.

  2. Yes, fuck blooger.

Thanks, I do remember that now, I'll go look and see, but what I really envy David Byrne now is that he gets to talk to Cindy Sherman every day.
