Pocks Like Flattening Club Soda

  • My friend Steven Jackson died one year ago today. I'm afraid his wonderful blog of his gorgeous photographs has disappeared, his partner either not knowing or choosing not to renew the wordpress account.
  • I find I will not publish at the fourth refractory blog what I will not publish here or at the second and third refractory blogs. I can approach the fuck it, touch the fuck it, not eat and then shit out the fuck it. The notebook is filling. It's not you that prevents 9/10ths of what's not here or in two, three, or four (there's 1/10th that it's you). Something's happening.
  • It's about Samuel Johnson, but one way to guarantee a link here is to name a post Black Dog.
  • Are we missing the big picture on climate change?
  • Mark Ford and John Ashbery reading their poems.
  • What you can buy me for Giftmas. Or me me.
  • The Psychedelic Furs are playing Birchmere in January. It's been at least twenty-five years since I saw the Psychedelic Furs live. Keeping the streak.
  • Offered solely for your consideration: a defense of the novel.
  • What happened to all the music blogs?
  • Here, two old attempts at the fuck it, I hesitate, but fuck it:

  1. 1)rebecca solnit's piece on climate change was well worth reading

    2) the last few times i got club soda it was to make the humorously misnamed "egg cream" - chocolate syrup is blended with an ounce or so of milk, then the glass is filled with chilled carbonated water

    3) and speaking of delicacies not always available, the cashier at trader joe's told me today that the "turkeyless holiday roast" is all sold out for the season - people were buying them by the case - it's SO much better than tofurkey, she said (i think this could be true, but i've never tried tofurkey) - fortunately, i bought two before thanksgiving - we had one then and will have the other one at christmas (product's expiration date is Jan 5)

  2. This is not meant to torment you in any fashion, and while I don't know all the ins & outs of archive dot org, there are some kind of occasional screen shot (with also occasionally functional links therein), the latest for Stephen Jackson being this one:

Though it's certainly not the same, it really meant a lot to me when I found this way of gazing upon my friend Trish's likewise lapsed web presence. It's comforting knowing it's there.
