Lower Myself Down Alone With You into the Enormous Mouth That Waits, Beyond Youth, Beyond Every Instant of Ecstasy

We've yet to have a freeze, the average daytime temperature has been five to ten or more degrees above normal all Fall, we got our first measurable rain in 37 days last night, we hiked trails in piedmont Maryland both Saturday and Sunday and by November 9th the woods are done toggling to winter. I love winter woods best, people can vouch, but the fuck? Yesterday's trail blaze

Fine metaphors more than abound, they're a freaking plague, as is silence of people deleting themselves out of despair. I cannot not bark, grrrrid (though I skip grrrriding the genocide - with one link exception - to focus on my neighborhood this post). I'm one of three people on the planet whose favorite XTC is late XTC. Andy Partridge is 71 today

I used to think shitlords more directly involved in professional Democrats suckitude but have learned shitlords merely tell them what they can't say and leave the implementation of the suckitude to Democratic prosIt is six days since the election and the Washington Post has STILL not run a Rank the 2028 Democratic Party candidates for POTUS article, more a reflection that the Post doesn't think there WILL be a 2028 or a reflection of just how bankrupt, hollow, and pointless discussing the future of the Democratic Party is, and of course it's both
A reminder: Joe Biden chose Harris yes to fulfill a campaign promise to nominate a black woman but chose this particular black woman BECAUSE she's an arrogant stupid empty vessel who would thwart movements to force Biden to resign in 2022 because no one thought she could winIf you have not had your obamapostasy yet the fuck is wrong with you, he's shittier than both Clintons and Biden combined, I mean.... evil
When the decline of the Democratic Party in the clusterfuckocene is written Citizens United will be cited as the major factor but Clinton triangulated right a decade earlier and Obama had already bailed out Wall Street before Citizens United became law, I said to a colleague who (does not know this blog exists and won't learn about it from me) insisted Democrats' souls are good, it's the law that's bad, that Democrats' intentions are honorableI did not follow up and point out that reports are out that Harris campaign spent over a half-billion dollars on "consultants' fees," Democrats got fat off Citizens United, they like it just fine
"Obama made Trump president not just once (by bailing out Wall Street in 2009 instead of crushing it & then anointing Hillary Clinton as his successor in 2016) but twice (by pushing everyone out of the 2020 primaries in favor of Biden). Just an incredible achievement"
"I hope Mr. Obama finds his silicon satisfaction. I hope the men of capital whose banks he bailed out during the financial crisis show a little gratitude and build him the biggest, most expensive, most innovative presidential library of them all. But his party is in ruins today, without a leader and without a purpose"
"Incredible. Bob Brady, chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party since 1986, says he was completely ignored by the Harris campaign -- unlike any Dem nominee in decades. Says he never once spoke to Kamala. This guy runs the Dem machine in the most critical city in the country!"
"The left had the dominant political ecosystem during the 2000's - the blogosphere or netroots. When Obama took power he deliberately and with malice saw to its destruction. This is because Obama was not a left winger, and hated pressure from the left"
"Events in Amsterdam and their aftermath are important because they present the world with a glimpse at mainstream Israeli discourse, what in the eyes of most Israelis is the bonding agent between various Israeli factions. We are these marauding, beaten fans" IMPORTANT THREAD on Joe's genocide
People who don't get invited to parties, who we won't invite to parties, should get invited to parties more
"Can you imagine how owned the libs would be if Trump kept Lina Kahn?"
"The Democrats already have their Blue Trump. His name is John Fetterman"
"Fetterman might actually have been the future of the Democratic party if he hadn't aggressively and proudly branded himself Genocide John and shown utter contempt for the young progressives who were initially inspired by his candidacy"
"If Democrats want to appeal to Christian family values voters, they must nominate a candidate who has been married three times, slept with a porn star while his wife was pregnant, sexually assaulted 27 women, and was best friends with the world’s most notorious pedophile"
"Flipping just one in every hundred voters would have stopped the likelihood of mass deportations, tax cuts for the wealthy, rollbacks of L.G.B.T.Q. protections and the reversal of climate regulations"
"Why Kamala Harris’s Campaign Was Doomed From the Start"
"Obama's biographer reveals ex-president fears for his legacy after 'tone-deaf preaching' harmed Harris campaign"
"You have a responsibility to avoid accountability!"
Grrrrid, good to get that out of my system, there will be more as needed but the cathartic bleating I needed
Maggie's{ feuilleton }Pie-Dish Beetle Pursues Longer Life
The woods are deep winter in early November in Maryland, it's 70 degrees out today

It’s true I never write, but I would gladly die with you.
Gladly lower myself down alone with you into the enormous mouth
that waits, beyond youth, beyond every instant of ecstasy, remember:
before battle we would do each other’s makeup, comb each other’s
                   hair out
saying we are unconquerable, we are terrible and splendid—
the mouth waiting, patiently waiting. And I will meet you there
                   again
beyond bleeding thorns, the endless dilation, the fire that alters
                   nothing;
I am there already past snowy clouds, balding moss, dim
swarm of stars even we can step over, it is easier this time, I promise—
I am already waiting in your personal heaven, here is my hand,
I will help you across. I would gladly die with you still,
although I never write
from this gray institution. See
they are so busy trying to cure me,
I’m condemned—sorry, I have been given the job
of vacuuming the desert forever, well, no more than eight hours
                   a day.
And it’s really just about a thousand miles of cafeteria;
a large one in any event. With its miniature plastic knives,
its tuna salad and Saran-Wrapped genitalia will somebody
                   please
get me out of here, sorry. I am happy to say that
every method, massive pharmaceuticals, art therapy
and edifying films as well as others I would prefer
not to mention—I mean, every single technique
known to the mouth—sorry!—to our most kindly
compassionate science is being employed
to restore me to normal well-being
and cheerful stability. I go on vacuuming
toward a small diamond light burning
off in the distance. Remember
me. Do you
remember me?
In the night’s windowless darkness
when I am lying cold and numb
and no one’s fiddling with the lock, or
shining flashlights in my eyes,
although I never write, secretly
I long to die with you,
does that count?

  1. 0/over at powerpop blog people were recently praising warren zevon - i said i loved the line "his air was perfect" - similarly, this edition of this blog is perfect - i love the obamapostasy especially the quote from jon schwarz about how barack made trump president twice

1/i published an obamaskeptic poem prior to his election, even while expressing the hope he might be the peace candidate we needed, despite every indication he wasn't - i went on to say

On the other hand, maybe the following verse, following the format of Lewis Carroll's The Mad Gardener's Song, is a better prediction of the future:

She thought she saw a candidate
Who'd put an end to war.
She looked again, and found it was
    The Same Game as Before.
"If that's the way it goes," she said,
    "Then what is voting for?"

1.1/surprisingly, a comment on that post of mine led me to a blog with a recent post - its first in eight years - as todd rundgren sang in one of his anthemic songs, "underneath it all we are here together"

1.2/i haven't posted at my own eponymous blog in twelve years - who knows if it's good or bad?

    1. 0/perfect hair, not air

1/fafblog was way ahead of most people on obama, as well as global warming

2/an old acquaintance of the 'inside the beltway' sort - literally and figuratively - reports he is watching a kdrama on netflix - "crash landing on you" - wikipedia describes the premise as "a successful South Korean businesswoman and chaebol heiress...while paragliding ... is blown off course by a tornado and crash-lands in the North Korean portion of the DMZ...A captain in the Korean People's Army is patrolling, discovers her, and is persuaded to hide her and help her return to the South."

charmingly, the lead actors became a couple after making this series, and now are married and have a son

    2. Re: Fafblog: I was a faithful lover of that service until I had a wee kerfuffle (on another site) with the proprietor... over that irritating "white privilege" "debate" back when the alt right was using that "debate" to recruit. I only tried to point out, to the feller, that as worthless as the WP coupons he had inherited, at birth, had become (too many whites, now)... he still had more of it than most dark-unwhites would ever bank. As in: *he* could "clean up" a bit and waltz through (hypothetical anal exclusive tiny-pocketable-things boutique of your choice) without having Security (or the swivel-eyed shop girl) on him like lint. Me? Still can't (at 65!).

  2. This post sent me down a wild goose hole on YouTube, hoping for a remastered version of the entire Apple Venus album masterpiece. Next thing I know I'm watching an incredibly pasty-precious combo do a cover of River of Orchids (the high point of that album) as the backdrop of the meh-reading of a pome. I found this demoralizing. Like watching the projecting of the emergency explosive decompression sequence, from 2001: A Space Odyssey, in slo mo, on a woman giving birth in a Jacuzzi. No, I fucked this up: what I just described sounds cool (aesthetic dog's dinner or not). Anyway...

So (clears throat): nobody else got the willies with the niggling subliminal information that the FBI/ Secret Service (or the paid-in-beer, moonlighting, Walkmart Security guards) were obviously in on the ridiculous "assassination" skit that turned Trump into a double-shoe-in? Trump's first stint in the swivel chair, on the ship's bridge, he almost single-handedly turned a bunch of "toxins"-obsessed, native-herbal-healing Libs into Big Pharma's most ardently unquestioning fans. WhateverTF is next...? (Well, I *do* have suspicions... like... Trump gets JFK'd to kickstart that Civil War the Plutocats seem to want... ? They are literally advising families to bifurcate over the "election" results... where can we buy those "The National" signature flak jackets before next Black Friday?
