All that is beautiful, from which I choose even artifice, which I hold above nature, won’t salve these stuttered accoutrements
Blooger isn't fixed but it is a tiny bit less broken. Two of you have reached out, the blogroll updater is still totally broken for some, sorta broken for others, but when anyone clicks the site button they are sent to the front page of the respective site which is current and up-to-date, click on the site title, not the alleged lastest post link. My bandcampis up-to-date and has the new Bonnie Prince Billy live album, released last Friday
Blogger sent me an email last week telling me they had crawled the blog and found four - FOUR - videos on BLCKDGRD that had frozen and deleted them. Subsequently some of the blog updaters updated and continue to and more updaters updated and then seized up dead again, I have no idea whether the two events are related and, surprisingly to me, care less each day. Trying the same diminishing damnlessness on the clusterfuck, nope. This song slays me each and every time
My understanding is you can get one free listen of anything on my bandcamp so help yourself. I can shuffle my bandcamp from my phone but not from my PC, if you know how to shuffle on a PC or chromebook PLEASE TELL ME! This ends the What the Fuck Is Wrong With Blooger programming and returns to its regular, relentless, and futile What the Fuck Is Wrong With Me starring gridofanger and its embedded and not embedded but implied monologues, plus songs, plus a poem
1/I agree with Senator Duckworth at the C-SPAN link
Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) says Democrats should not impeach "anybody" if they regain control of Congress and "get back to work" on issues like funding of USAID or easing tariffs, which she says are hurting Illinois pork and soybean farmers
because a 2/3 Senate vote is required for conviction and removal - since this is impossible under current conditions, impeachment is a waste of time
Senator Duckworth, if she were a town, might have two or three Atlas Obscura entries - see her Wikipedia entry for various ways in which she is noteworthy
2/Kenneth Boulding's 1966 essay “The Economics of the Coming Spaceship Earth” contrasted the wasteful “cowboy economy,” based on unlimited frontiers, with a closed, resource-constrained economy requiring recycling, stewardship, and long-term planning
the comments at Ian Welsh's Doom, As Predicted post, linked to supra, contain several elements of interest, including this familiar tale:
“A WOLF, meeting with a lamb astray from the fold, resolved not to lay violent hands on him, but to find some plea, which should justify to the lamb himself, his right to eat him.
He then addressed him: Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me.
Indeed, bleated the lamb in a mournful tone of voice: I was not then born.
Then said the wolf: You feed in my pasture.
No, good sir, replied the lamb: I have not yet tasted grass.
Again said the wolf: You drink of my well.
No, exclaimed the lamb: I never yet drank water, for as yet my mother’s milk is both food and drink to me.
Upon which the wolf seized him and ate him up, saying: Well! I won’t remain supper-less, even though you refute every one of my imputations.
Moral: The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny, and it is useless for the innocent to try by reasoning to get justice, when the oppressor intends to be unjust."
Alpalphabit / Bloog still stuck in the blogroll. Either this is the Universe's way of saying I should go to Substack under a human name and sunder all connection with my bark bark bark, but dunno. That would suggest I have something to say beyond an acidic, snark sense of humor, and that what I'm saying has some value-add reason to read it. I'm sure Bloober's brokeness is tied to our Politiki -- tiny, tiny little pushbacks to the immense weight of cruel brutal Capital and HP Lovecraft-like reality-bending will result in tiny changes to Blugger's brokenness. When it's technical problems are cured, our Politics will be as well. Or, not.
