A Shovel Clanging Off Paving Stone

This is true: what motivates me most to protest SOPA is the thought that while my daydream of braining Dis emeffing Chrodd with a shovel will never come true, may his head figuratively explode when SOPA fails. Also, sork wucketh mightily with pissilarity and this is my scream, but Yay! wanna hear some new Magnetic Fields and new Lambchop? Also, Yay! this poem where this post's title is taken from. Also, Yay! we might drive out to Bamgier to take Planet to dinner Saturday night, meaning more deserted rural interstates! and potential new paintings by Earthgirl!

  1. Hey! You and Propublica need to update your unkind (and other negativistic modifiers) comments about your senator, who has repented and is no longer worse than Michelle Bachmann in any respect, not that he actually was when you said so a few days back. Keep up, else we'll be forced to point out that you support both Mittens and Crazy Jeebus Ladies. Since you totally do and all.

Also: really? You got nothing better to do with your weekend? Well. Hmm. Okay, try to shave 15 minutes off your speed record, there, Racer X.

  2. Alsotoo: I figured out what's up with your comments, checking my own and the Bloogertools to see if it's fixable.

  3. Icky. It's fixable, after a fashion, though I'd have to break into your template code to do it. Not sure how they fucked you up in the first place.

  4. It reminded me why I left blooger this first time back in 1923 or whenever. I wondered if it had to do with chrome, which I started using on the laptop then stopped when it came to blooger because it does stuff differently than firefox and I didn't want to to deal with it.

If Planet wants us to come visit, we'll go visit any weekend between now and March 10 and any weekend after when there's not a home game.

    1. No, I'm getting the problem in Firefox too. And one would think that Google's browser would correctly render a Google-driven site. But, y'know, that's often the problem with thinking. It's also a problem in IE. Basically, it's justifying comments (everything else is ragged right) and also doing something bizarro with the vertical spacing. There may be some interplay with your comments software, too. Next time we're in the same place I'll take a quick pop at your code and see if I can fix it without wrecking the train.

  5. I'm on a Mac & Safari-ing and got the same problem Landru ('sup, G?) has.

Not having the same prob at WoW (not that I'm blogwhoring or anything), b/c my Comments page comes up in a new window without all the front page formatting & shit. There is a thingamajig on that one page that lets you, you know, set it to do that. Hope I'm not getting too technical here.

@BDR: I feel you. Wisdoc goes to U. here in ATL, tho' she lives in an off-campus apt and not in my house. Still, she called today, wanted me to meet her at the bookstore to buy her texts for the semester. I did, & we did lunch. That's just awesome. If she were as far away as P., I'd hop in the car, plug in some iPod tunes, and boogie my way down to see her any weekend I was needed or wanted. You betcha'.

    1. Um, that's Wisdaughter. Wisdoc does, in fact, still live in my house. At least she did the last time I checked.

    2. Heh, I needed the snort, thanks.

I suspect bloogal comment weird has to do with the new reply option, though there's four or five other new weirdnesses in blooger just the past week. They used to roll out *upgrades* with old versus new options and then a drop dead date. Maybe they've justly said, fuck that, you'll take what we give you and you'll like it. They'd be right.

I love the trips to Bamgier. Love love love. All she has to do is ask.
