Busy. Read this post
on talking w/obamapologists then watch the above a second time. Exchange roles, it's fun! Remember, I'm a cutter
- my obamapostate's overbearingly obnoxious and zealous anger is at my
past rubity, not yours, past or current. Links, poem, songs later, and by later I mean tomorrow. Also, shitty soup
Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that.ReplyDelete

Being antisocial has its advantages.ReplyDelete
The real rubity is that Santorum is better for us.ReplyDelete
"matching and even exceeding the excesses of the Bush/Cheney": this is the bullshit premise of that piece. It's just ignorance and selective memory. For better or worse, the either/or is all we have for now. The choice not to vote for Obama is a vote for Rmoney or Gingrinch or FMLFM or even Ayn Paul.
It also betrays a serious naivete w/r/t to the power of individual executive vis a vis the Executive branch. Institutions like DHS simply do not change, disappear, or give up their entrenched POWER to any mere temporary occupant of the White House overnight—if ever.
Sure, there's a hue and cry for a strong man on the Left. Your linked friend may be in that group. There are many who do not know what they are asking for. Institutional change—specifically, taking power away from entrenched interests—is hard, long-term, and necessarily incremental. I'm sorry.

Fine, Jim. Could you cite some facts in support of your opinion?
P.S. BDR, I've just read that Franco is still dead.
Please gay-marry me.
Heh! And I personally and publicly bless that gay marriage which should be granted all the rights of traditional marriage and I, recognizing that all I have is the full force of my bully pulpit at BLCKDGRD, call on members of state houses and senates and the US House of Representatives and Senate to immediately write into law such language, which is more than Obama will do with the force of his bully pulpit.ReplyDelete
I've noticed, especially recently, these discussions quickly break down to an obamapologist's *Obama can't* versus an obamapostate's *Obama won't.* No doubt both are true and false. The end result is the same, I suppose as far as what we affect for our debating. Don't worry. He's gonna be reelected.
Sorry Landru, I can't; I live in Georgia. When you're right, Dog, you're right. My view, tho', is that the gov't should be out of the marriage bsns altogether. Sure, a contractual license of some sort issued by States for purposes of census and taxation and registration and insurance and heritability, etc. But marriage is something that should only be done by churches, and have no effect at law. I mean, even if you get married in a church now, you still have to get a license. Not an inconsistent reading of the First Amendment.ReplyDelete
@if: First, I beg the extension of Blog Amnesty from our host for the following bit of blegwhoring. Then, I invite you to scroll/stroll through the posts at this link: http://wisdomofthewest.blogspot.com/search/label/War%20Crimes
I said neither that he can't nor that he won't.ReplyDelete
And for fuck's sake, Jim, I was just saying that I like you. Not that I disagree with your legal sentiment.
As for you, beloved BFF...the end of DADT would certainly be considerably more than .06% better than the not-end of DADT. Thunder, I ask only that you accept that assertion as uncritically as you accept Mano Singham's assertions.
@Landru: And I you. "Dog" => my term of affection for BDR, our esteemed host. I coulda' been clearer by inserting a ¶. That was directed to him.ReplyDelete
On another topic: we failed miserably and it's up to the mighty Turtle to take down the dookies. Aaaaargh!
Jim, I wasn't confused. I was just interloping. I'm given to understand that I'm a dick that way.ReplyDelete
Oddly, I heard of the failure of Ebola to consume both shades of blue from...my mother, who was watching the game, having been semi-converted by her Heels-fan boyfriend/paramour/companion/whatever. One of the awesomenesses of life: my 76-year-old mother living in sin. Sweet vengeance is mine. Until it isn't, of course.
Aaaargh indeed; the chance of our sick turtles taking down Dook is...not good.
@Landru: Creative misprision: some of my best stories get started that way!ReplyDelete
Wait'll they're rolling numbers, gettin' your Kiss records out. Surrender! Surrender! But don't give yourself away.
