Eighty-Four Today

Chuck Barris is 84 today. I'm asked, who would I vote for if I voted POTUS 12. See who one of the celebrity panelists is in video above? I'd vote for the corpse of Pat Paulsen for POTUS!

  1. About a month ago, I woke up at 2:00 A.M. and couldn't get back to sleep. I figured I'd turn on the TV and turn the volume down low on some infomercial, that always puts me to sleep. Clicking through the channels, I came upon a movie already in progress, almost over, actually, about Chuck Barris (with Drew Barrymore? as the love interest), the gist of it being he was a hitman for the CIA or somebody. Or was I just dreaming while somebody was hawking a cordless weedwacker?

  2. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

Tbogg has been, is, and always will be an asshat of ultra-assclownian dimensions. Thought so long before my apostasies. So no, that doesn't surprise me.

  3. It's a pretty fucked-up landscape when Tbogg actually comes across as the voice of reason, and those arguing against bombing civilians come across as spittle-flecked retards, as is pretty clearly the case there.

Oh, wait, you meant something else?

  5. False equivalence. Imagine your post when someone sets one up.

  6. Perhaps you're right and I'm being unfair to Tbogg. It's entirely possible he's not a rank partisan tool and he actually believes in unlimited executive power over life and death and endless war as tool for prolonging a fading empire and the bombing of innocent civilians regardless of who's in the White House. Perhaps we'll find out next January.

For the first time in my life, I agree with Josh Trevino.

The Obama administration is not callously going in and killing civilians and to assert that they are is pure hyperbole: but a system of drones devoted to taking out terrorists and terrorist training camps is infinitely preferable to boots on the ground and more American military deaths.

Look at it this way: is it preferable to take out someone like al-Assad of Syria and possibly his family if we felt the need to keep him from killing any more his people or would you prefer an invasion? Because as much as some people in the Middle East would hate us fror raining death on al-Assad from above, many more would hate us for yet another military incursion into the Middle East.

While we await that blessed drone strike that will bring peace to Syria, here's some USA Freedom News™:

Drone blitz on Pakistan enters third straight day

Up to 27 people have died in strikes that began on Saturday as US shows no signs of bowing to Pakistani objections
    .

Of course, that's from a commie Yurp paper, as we here in the U.S. know that the definition of "militant" is someone we kill with our drones.

P.S. As I pointed out later, agreeing with Josh Trevino should have set off a little alarm in TBogg's head.

  8. I really don't understand a political philosophy that consists of calling people names and complaining about things. I thought we used to call that the GOP.
