No Layoffs from This Condensery

That's the promised slideshow from this past Wednesday night's Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds show at Strathmore Music Center in South Rockville. Maybe the acoustics of a hall designed for classical music defuses the noise of a rock crowd, but seems to me Nick Cave worked harder than the audience, certainly on our tier, where one guy stood up to clap after the second song and was tugged down by his girlfriend before anyone had the chance to tell him to sit the fuck down. And watching the Strathmore docents’s faces as Cave sang Stagger Lee’s lyric I’ll crawl over five good pussies to get to one fat boy’s asshole was almost worth the price of admission itself.

  1. Oh, fuck Costa Rica. It's called home field advantage, motherfuckers. Know what's disrespectful to the game? FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC, and I bet even OFC is on the take like a 1930s Chicago cop. Weather happens.

The rich underwrite orchestras and museums attended by the little people, so that's good enough for them.

  2. Heh, *Fuck Costa Rica* and the rinkydinkness of USSF are not mutually exclusive.

As for USMNT - pick a fucking kit and stick with it.

Sounds like they overwhelmingly give to things that might bear their name, or where their donation will be publicly trumpeted in some way or another. And: Isolation (espec of the socio-economic sort) breeds a sense of disconnectedness and a lack of empathy. Seems like that conclusion would be a no-brainer.

There's a place in the DC area called Suitland? Haha. Somehow I'd missed that when I lived Bawmer.
