Planet texted me yesterday, did I know P.J. Harvey is playing Wolf Trap this July 21st? I didn't! The fuck?
Her last album, The Hope Six Demolition Project, didn't work for me, my fault.
Once upon I listened to P.J. Harvey lots. I have most of her albums, posted her songs here lots.
Click the P.J. Harvey tag at bottom to hear lots (I can't guarantee the youtubes aren't dead).
As far as I can tell, I last posted a P.J. Harvey song last September - a song from that album.
I cannot remember the last time I listened to a P.J. Harvey album, as in, put in the DVD, listened from start to finish.
I cannot remember the last time I listened to, as in, put in the DVD, listened from start to finish.
The idea of listening to an album from start to finish is inconceivable to me, a marker for how, through no plan of my own, only my training and obedience - happifuckingly, he taps into his Fisher-Price inspiron - I'm fed bits now, not reams.
I cannot read novels any more.
I have not burned my P.J. Harvey albums to iTunes so they are not in rotation.
In searching for P.J. Harvey songs to post in this post the ones I used to post, I fail many of them, the fuck is wrong with me.
In 2009 or 2010 Earthgirl, Planet, and I saw the P.J. Harvey / John Parish A Woman a Man Walked By tour at Warner:
Good album, good show.
This is true: as we were leaving I saw across the room someone I figured would be there if that someone was still in DC. That person saw me. Smile.
I would or would not go to Wolf Trap in July to see P.J. Harvey in hopes or dread of running into that person again.
I have been to many shows in DC since then - Magnetic Fields a couple of weeks ago - where I'd expect to see this person if she was still in DC.
1) i haven't been to wolf trap very many times, but shows i have seen there include julio iglesias, prairie home companion, fiddler on the roof - admittedly not cutting edgeReplyDelete
1a)as for it being "aarp's outdoor summer venue" - as pete seeger sang, "to everything there is a season" - which is why when the aarp puts an entertainer on the cover of its magazine, the picture is always at least a decade old - yes, like us, these people are older than they were when they attained fame - no, we don't really want to see them as they look now - for example, look for the daily mail's recent picture of joni mitchell arriving at elton john's 70th birthday party
2)i learned from our friends at wikipedia about polly jean harvey:
Harvey has one older brother, Saul, and four nephews through him. She said in 1995 that she would love to have children, stating: "I wouldn't consider it unless I was married. I would have to meet someone that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. That's the only person who I would want to be the father of my children. Maybe that will never happen. I obviously see it in a very rational way but I'd love to have children."
Harvey has encountered widespread opposition to a comment made in favour of fox hunting in a 1998 NME magazine feature, which reported Harvey saying she was not opposed to fox hunting and that, "Seeing the hunt out on the fields is just so natural to me." Harvey was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to music.
3)it was during this present month i "listened to an album all the way through" - inasmuch as i watched the entire dvd of todd rundgren performing "healing" live in 2010 - i have an extra copy of this dvd which i would consider sending to any close personal cyberfriend who would commit to listening to it all the way through
speaking of the aaargh, the following strikes me as incisive and illuminating:ReplyDelete
