["HOPE" IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS]
Emily Dickinson
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

ReplyDeletedickinson speaks of the thing with feathers - i assume the entity with head hair is earthgirl - it's good to see a picture of her
my next expedition will probably be to costco for their 'seniors only' hour tuesday 8 am - i think i might wear a bandana over my nose and mouth for that occasion
our friends at truthdig published a piece saying trump might try to cancel the election by imposing martial law, which surprisingly ended with a bogus quote from thomas jefferson - i wrote to them and wonder if they will correct it - it was odd to see a favorite saying of barry goldwater at a supposedly leftwing site

DeleteHorrifying moment dead bodies are loaded into a refrigerated truck with a forklift outside a Brooklyn hospital as nurse shares picture of coronavirus victims lined up inside another
a refrigerated truck is an appropriate place for a plastic-wrapped former patient to be - i would be ok with that if it were me
While I do appreciate the sciences I don't think it's too much to say that technology and science are part of the problem. While the two are often helpful in numerous ways, they also have helped lead us to this natural disaster. You can't rape Mother Earth indefinitely and not expect consequences. Not all scientists are angels from heaven searching for truth. Many physicists end up working for the war (ridiculously called defense in the vernacular) industry designing weapons of destruction aided by technology. Science advances technology and technology advances science while narrow minded scientists ignore the blood dripping from their paychecks. More and more rare elements are needed for the advancement of technology requiring further damage to our planet through mining. While I appreciate science it does have a dark underbelly like most religions.
