lt literally doesn't exist, no, stay up and go to sleep, unless it falls on the right side of the brain positioned for so many forgeries, moon nugget...
One last thing about blooger's recent rapid enshittification - starting Tuesday this week, each time I open blooger's dashboard blooger's AI bullshitter begs me to use it rather than myself. Fine metaphors abound. Whether related to the improving - more are now updating again but many still fucked-up - blogrolls.... who knows
Rest in Peace, Stanley (after Elkin). As long as we kept the lid up and the bathroom door open he never used the litter box (he would if we left the lid down or accidentally shut the door) until his rapid decline in his old age this past year
Within four years eight of our nine cats died, six of old age, two were murdered, one by an asshole in a car, one by asshole neighbor's asshole dog. Olive still here. Nugget and Spidey arrive from rescue/foster on Halloween
Guess which one's Nugget. Going to Michigan to visit my daughter Wednesday next week, unless something kaboom-worthy, good or bad, happens, or I've forgotten a BLCKDGRD holy day, this will probably be the last post before I leave. I've got myself down to once a week, I did it for you. As always on vacation trips, I have no plans to post and no plans to not post, though being in Michigan weeks before the midterms and Michigan's key and contentious Senate race could be entertaining. Mogwai with Iggy have a good new creepy song?
1/nice to see a picture of stanley, and may his memory be a blessing - a bit surprising that you are currently down to one feline companion - the soon to arrive youngsters are quite photogenic - it's a year since spouse and self engaged a professional poisoner to rid our home of murine companions - i fear a new infiltration and have expressed to my human companion an intention to get a cat or two again if we see unambiguous evidence
2/last night missus charley and I watched a pbs show about polar ice - narrated by a famous actor with a thick scottish accent - part of it showed an experiment that successfully thickened arctic sea ice in the winter by making holes in it and pumping up water from below - an inuk woman, a young mother from cambridge bay a.k.a. ikaluktutiak, was shown being hopeful about this - optimistic background music was provided - unlike many women from this ethnic group, such the former member of parliament mumilaaq qaqqaq, she did not have facial tattoos, making it easier for the noninuit audience to identify with her
2.7/i'd call this another tragicomic anecdote from life in the anthropocene - to me this seemed somewhat more moving, and less ridiculous, than the idea that mechanical carbon capture and sequestration - either from combustion exhaust, or perhaps even just from the atmosphere - could reduce CO2 concentration in future - and yet a physics nobel prize winner and former secretary of energy has endorsed this concept
3/nevertheless, there is beauty in the world, and love - jesus advised letting the tares and the grain keep growing in the same field, and separatinh them at harvest time - a thought-provoking metaphor
4/happy trails to you, and all who come to read these words, until such time as we may [virtually] meet again
