Born Seventy-Two Years Ago Today

I've always loved George best. People can vouch. All Things Must Pass must be my second most listened to album.

It's also Ric Flair's birthday, but the motherfucking McMahons claimed copyright and the My Shoes Cost More Than Your House youtube, a staple of this shitty blog for eleven years, is now blocked, so fuck them all.

The only two Beatles songs I don't play just in my head.

And the best Travelling Wilbury's song is a George song:

  1. when i was younger i wore glasses [and hair] like john and people would very occasionally remark on the resemblance - i still wear somewhat similar glasses but no one is reminded of john any more - as the girl from frederick, md sang on the voice blind auditions on monday, 'will you still love me when i'm not young and beautiful'

the major disappointment of the wilburys was, considering the star power, what relatively shitty songs they had - sure, they were having a good time, and maybe that's what really mattered

'within you, without you' got me to read the bhagavad gita

'badge' by cream was movingly performed in their 2005 reunion concerts by leaving a moment of silence for us to imagine george playing
